VIVA VOCE NEWS 2007
June 25 - PORTLAND SUMMERTIME SHAKE & BAKE
Here's hoping the warm weather is finding you well. We're taking some time to let the van cool off, but not the blisters as we'll be getting neck-deep into the thick water of new jams. It's just that time of year...

In the meantime, we've relaunched Amore!Phonics. Check out our home-away-from-home at the "store" link.

We've got a few dates coming up that are pretty exciting, so if we come through your way - come on out and say hey.
All for now. Thanks for reading.
take care - kevin / vv.

April 26 - BOOKS & COMPS
So Anita & I are published writers!
Sort of. Our recipes for Best Guacamole Ever & Hottt Boiled Peanuts have been published in a new cookbook called "I LIKE FOOD, FOOD TASTES GOOD". More info at THIS LINK.

Viva Voce contributed a track to the compilation "Bridging The Distance" on Arena Rock Recordings. It's out this month. The compilation is a benefit for the P;ear organization in Portland, OR. All the proceeds from the disc go to this amazing organization which helps homeless and transitional youth bridge financial and class distances through mentorship programs.
And what a better way to raise money than irony? All the bands (local Portlanders) covered classic rock songs, and we did our best at the Alan Parsons Project diddy, "Eye in the Sky". It's for charity, right? The Thermals, Decemberists, Dandy Warhols, Britt Daniel & more gave it their best and is worth checking out.

That's it for now. Thank you for all the nice emails! It may take a bit to reply to them all, there is grass to mow thats up to my chest.
Take care & hope all is well with you.
Best - Kevin / vv.

April 21 - BACK IN THE U.S.S.A.
We wrapped up an insanely awesome tour with The Shins this week in San Francisco. We've toured with them since January - in 8 different countries, and we're both a little sad to see it end. It was simply incredible & we're happy to now call them family.
Cheers fellas. Well done.

So, we're gearing up for what's coming up. Festivals. And more Festivals. Lollapalooza. Capitol Hill Block Party. The whole she-bang. Check the tour dates.

Take care & thanks again for coming out to the shows!
See you soon - kevin / vv.

March 13 - CONAN AND FESTIVALLES
So it's a short notice, but tomorrow night Anita will sing with The Shins on The Conan O'Brian Show. Badass? Yes. It is. She'll be pulling double-duty, and afterwards will be shuttled with the shinboys back to Madison Square Garden to rock the night away.
There are worse problems to have, huh?

The Sasquatch Festival lineup is announced - so be sure and get yr tickets. We're on Saturday! This will be the one to see. Sarah Silverfish, Beastly Boys and wookies. Ewoks. Pete Rocks.

Thanks for the kind words on the tour. Things are going great & we're having a blast. Check out the rantings on the MTV Blog if you care.
See you soon - kevin / vv.

March 9 - WEST COAST, EUROPE AND BLOGGIN'
So we've just added a UK / Europe tour with The Shins! Hell,...why not a US West Coast Tour then? Fine. Check out the tour dates, and come see us in your town.
We've been asked by the good people of MTV to "blog" the tour,...so I'm doing my best to keep it real. Check it out HERE.
Thanks for coming to the shows.
See you soon.

March 5 - EAST COAST
Today is the 1st day of the US East Coast tour with The Shins. Check out the tour page for updates. There will be a new West Coast tour announced shortly. Short stuff.
Drove 3,000 miles straight from Portland to Dallas. Trail mix & Red Bull.
Dallas to Toronto - here we go.

February 11 - THE TOURING CONTINUES
On into the night, the rock train rolls to your town. Blows its whistle (and on a good night, minds) - then belts off to another city. That train, my friends, has just juiced up and prepared itself to keep barreling down the motorway.
New tour dates. Toot toot.
love - kevin / vv.

February 2 - NEW TOUR DATE
Hey again.
A 2nd date in Seattle has been added with The Shins. The first one sold out quickly, so I'm glad we'll be back through.
Take care & see you soon.
- kevin / vv.

January 28 - WE'RE OFF....
Ready, steady - go! Viva heads out with The Shins in less than two weeks. The dates are posted on the tour page. Grab em while you can - they're going like hotcakes. Hot beefcakes. Beefy cakes. Phoebe Cates. You get the idea.

That's it for now. Tonight marks the 3rd spin on American MTV2's Subterranean for the "From The Devil Himself" vid. Thanks for all the requests & keeping it in rotation.
See you all soon.
Love - kevin /vv.

January 10 - SNL & LETTERMAN
Welcome back friends.
Hope yer new year is clipping along nicely. We had a great 2006. Lots of ups & downs - in's / out's, what-have-you's, but we're out of the gates with sneeky ol '007 and here's what's up.

Anita is singing with The Shins this weekend on Saturday Night Live! As posted before, Anita sang on some tracks on The Shins new album. One of them being the single "Phantom Limb". Said tune will be performed this weekend on SNL, so check local listings, Jan.13th - tune in & pour a little out for your hommies.
As if that wasn't cool enough. The Shins have asked Anita to sing with them on The David Letterman show on January 23rd.
  Righteous.

So you'd think the natural thing would be to tour with The Shins, yeah? - which is just what we're going to do! We've posted the dates, and starting in Feb. we'll hit the road with our new friends and rock your face off with a one / two punch of fun lovin' frenzy. Show up, punk!

We've got a lot more coming down the pike in '07 so keep your ears out. We're pulling out a new face to our label, Amore!Phonics - tour, after tour, after tour....new jams, new studio - it's all going down. It's a happening and I hope you're down.

Take care - hope yr all well and thanks for dropping in.
Much love - kevin /vv.
